Accord Canada-Québec - COVID-19

The purpose of the Women’s Program is to advance equality for women in Canada by working to address or remove systemic barriers impeding women’s progress and advancement. The WP supports the Government of Canada’s goal of advancing gender equality in Canada. It is consistent with Government of Canada priorities related to economic prosperity, and supports Canada’s international commitments related to gender equality. This 18-month project will enhance the capacity of women’s shelters and organizations in support of victims of sexual and domestic violence in Quebec in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The organization will develop a process to disburse the funding to women's shelters and organizations in support of victims of sexual and domestic violence in Québec. The additional funds of $8.7M will ensure continued support to eligible organizations in the midst of the ongoing pandemic.
