Building Capacity to Mobilize Community-Based Research Skills and Knowledge

The purpose of ESSOGIE program is to advance social, political and economic equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression. Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program. This 15-month project will strengthen the capacity of Community-Based Research Centre Society to advance LGBTQ2 equality. This will be achieved by increasing access to evidence, data, information and knowledge sources by conducting needs assessments and environmental scans; building managerial capacity with board governance and strategic planning; and strengthening collaboration among organizations by creating and sharing training series resources and materials. At the end of the project, the organization will have increased knowledge and capacity to advance equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression.
