Women and Gender Equality Canada | Femmes et Égalité des genres Canada
Pan-Canadian Forum Against Masculinism and Francophobia
The purpose of the Women’s Program is to advance equality for women in Canada by working to address or remove systemic barriers impeding women’s progress and advancement. The WP supports the Government of Canada’s goal of advancing gender equality in Canada. It is consistent with Government of Canada priorities related to economic prosperity, and supports Canada’s international commitments related to gender equality. This 12-month project will engage leaders from various francophone minority communities across the country in a conversation about each person's key role in the fight against toxic masculinity and francophobia. This project will host the first national forum to address toxic masculinity and francophobia. Mobilized around the values of cooperation, dialogue and collective action, more than 70 leaders from coast to coast (presidents, CEOs and representatives of organizations, community leaders, student council leaders, etc.) will participate in this two-day forum. A manifesto will be developed by participants, which will present positive actions and recommendations to help eradicate toxic masculinity and francophobia.
