Trauma and violence-informed approaches workshop and toolkit for the NWT

The purpose of the Women’s Program is to advance equality for women in Canada by working to address or remove systemic barriers impeding women’s progress and advancement. The WP supports the Government of Canada’s goal of advancing gender equality in Canada. It is consistent with Government of Canada priorities related to economic prosperity, and supports Canada’s international commitments related to gender equality. This 13-month project will provide training, tools and resources to better equip frontline service providers with the ability to respond in a Northwest-Territories-contextualized trauma- and violence-informed approach to family and sexual violence. Stakeholder groups will be engaged and consulted, needs assessment formed and resources created. Resources will reach across the Northwest Territories and motivate uptake by service providers and partners. Consistent and relevant information will be accessible through workshops, written materials and web-based resources. During the course of this project, feedback and evaluation of resources will be reviewed and updated.
